Donald Trump’s infamous Fulton County Jail mugshot has proven to be a moneymaker.
The former president has raised $7.1 million since his mugshot was released Thursday evening, according to figures provided by his campaign to Politico, powered by sales of shirts, posters, bumper stickers and even beverage koozies featuring the phrase, “NEVER SURRENDER” showing Trump’s scowling photo.
He raised $4.18 million on Friday alone, the single-highest 24-hour period of his campaign to date, according to a person familiar with the totals who spoke with the news outlet.
Trump posed for a mug shot Thursday as he surrendered inside a jail in Atlanta on charges that he illegally schemed to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia.
The booking photo instantly becomes part of the former president’s legacy as he confronts criminal charges in four American cities while seeking to reclaim the White House.
His website’s landing page includes the mugshot and asks supporters to “make a contribution to evict Crooked Joe Biden from the White House and SAVE AMERICA during this dark chapter in our nation’s history.”
Trump’s team has raised millions this year, including $5 million in the first 48 hours after his first criminal indictment this year in a case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
